Born in 1968 in Poprad, Slovakia. MA from Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia (visual media & photography department), 1996. Kocan has shown his work in group exhibitions such as IMAGES OF EUROPE, Amsterdam, SLOVAKS IN DIJON, France, PROFILES 94-INTERNATIONAL, Skoki, Poland, SCHATTENWERFER, Forum schloss Wolkersdorf, Austria, COMMUNICATIONS at Tatra Gallery, Poprad, Slovakia, ALTERED WORLDS - Contemporary Slovak Staged Photography, FOTOFEST-Houston, USA. He has shown work in solo exhibitions, including Month of Photography Festival in Bratislava, Slovakia, and has won awards in the exhibition IMAGES OF EUROPE in 1992 and 1995.
