IT IS a kind of sentimental tribute to my favourite musical pieces and also to their analogue recording, which in case of phonograph records has also its graphic dimension. Vinyl phonograph record seems to be the one of last links in a chain of linear, intuitively comprehended, communication. My nostalgic feelings about it mean not only longing after bygone years of our youth, but also after a simpler world with things that were soaking with private histories and which lived and were growing old. Even broken to pieces they were preserving their individuality. I wanted to include in these pictures of fragments of records, existing and visible on them, fragments of music and overlaying them scratches - traces of someone's (sometimes of my own) life, remnants of gestures so common then, gestures that were eliminated by modern technologies.
